His owner mover into a townhouse where only 1 dog is allowed and he decided to keep his first, older female. This was Israel's second home also. Lets hope that it will be "3rd time - lucky" for him! Alex
Click for a large Picture		Alex came from breeders in Groot Brak Rivier and we have had him since he was around 4 weeks old. The attached pictures show him at around 8 months – he’s currently just over a year old. He has an outstanding character, very smart, is wonderful with our kids (3 and 5) and gets compliments wherever he goes. In short, he fulfills the typical description of a male Ridgeback to the letter. I am a Geologist by trade and frequently have to leave the country for extended periods to undertake work. During these periods, my wife has noted that Alex is rather down and she is unable to take him for as many walks as we’d like to or to cheer him up. Furthermore, we have established that contact with Alex brings my wife out in rash – she is allergic to Alex. Our plot is certainly large enough, but – esp. with Alex – we get the feeling that he needs lots and lots of space and early starts, which we can’t give him. Our impression is that he’d be happier on a farm/wine farm or smallholding and that he certainly needs other doggy company. Our choices at the moment are limited but, in the interests of maintaining Alex as a wonderful companion, we have decided to put him up for adoption sooner rather than later.
