Rescue scheme for ridgebacks Our excellent rescue scheme is run by Liz Penprase. She would be very glad to hear from you should you know of anyone in a position to take on one or more adult dogs which are looking for a happy home. We also need donations of food or money to the RRIF rescue fund. This money is used to feed and home the dogs until we find new homes. Please either deposit directly into our dedicated account with the Standard Bank of South Africa, branch code 001255, account no 424322439, please include the word "rescue" in the description, or by cheque posted to P O Box 3829, Northcliff, 2115, RSA. Please contact her at liz@rhodesianridgeback.org.za or on 087 808 7710.
The Rhodesian Ridgeback Pioneers is not the usual standard manual but a wonderful insight in to the history revealing how the breed was shaped and providing glimpses into the lives of the people who developed this magnificent breed. I loved the "whispers from the past". It is such a pity that the wonderful country Rhodesia and the families who were instrumental in the breed are all but lost. We must thank Linda Costa for her hours of diligent reading and research and her passion for bringing this lovely book to us, as well as Dr Steph Potgieter and Mike Darwin for their input. I could not put the book down until it was finished and highly reccomend
it to anyone with an interest in the breed.. Ridgeback Wines Ridgeback Wines is situated in Noord Agter Paarl surrounded by the rugged magnificence of the Paarl Mountains. The farm extends over an area of 65 hectares. Every effort has been made to retain the rich heritage of the countryside maintaining the Proteas and fynbos which flourish in the region. The vineyards are amongst the finest in the Cape where every effort is made to enhance the quality of the grape. The winery, overlooking a small dam, has an abundance of water fowl which blend into the countryside and creates a restful ambience. For more information see www.ridgebackwines.co.za
We can provide any size to fit however, so don't be afraid to make
you exact dimensions known. Though fairly easy to cut, accuracy is
about 5mm and though a craft knife copes well enough you are recommended
to get the major cutting done for you. Its porous qualities make it ideal for raising those young pups, and its resistance to very high and equally low ph levels mean you can clean it with anything to ensure an hygienic surface. For enquiries (South Africa and Zimbabwe only) please use the contact form.
